Hi there!  I am Sargeant, but many of my close friends call me "Sarge" or "the Sarge."  My foster and adoption team at OBG are taking great care of me and helping me get ready for my new home.  I got a great new "do" at the groomer, and I am turning heads everywhere I go! Please don't let the salt-and-pepper on my muzzle fool you; I am an active and spunky guy with a lot of life and energy in my 5 year-old body!

I love to meet new people, and I am very motivated by affection and yummy treats, which makes me trainable ... or at least that's what my foster mom says. I am focused on earning that treat!  We are working on simple commands, leash training, and greeting people without jumping, but I would benefit from a basic manners class to have fun and learn things with my new family.

Sometimes it takes me awhile to make doggy friends, so it would probably be a good idea to have me meet any of the canines in your house.  I'd LOVE to have cats... to chase.  (Foster mom says this means "No cats, please.")  Living in the city with my foster, I've realized that I love to chase lots of things—bicycles, buses, motorcycles, and joggers.  My foster mom thinks I would be better suited for a home in the suburbs or at least a single-family home in the city.  I also have a really great bark, and it would just be a waste to keep that all bottled up in an apartment building!

I would really love to live with someone who would keep me well-exercised. Being outside is one of my favorite things.  I love to explore!  When I go jogging with my foster mom, she praises me for how well I keep pace and stay on the sidewalk.  But she does let me stop and enjoy a few good sniffs of nature every so often.  Foster mom says we jog to stave off the mid-section bulge (whatever that is!) and to get ready for swimsuit season (I'm going to skinny-dip!). So maybe I can help you do the same!

Thanks for reading about me, and I hope to hear from you soon!
