Hi there, I'm a handsome buff boy estimated to be 6-8 years old. I was found as a stray and am so happy that OBG rescued me! While I’m enjoying my foster family, I can’t wait until I’m in my forever home!

True to my name, I'm pretty tiny and thin right now. Foster Mom has nicknamed me Moose. She says that I remind her of a moose calf—all legs and head--just trying to balance it all. And, despite my small size, she says that I have more love to offer than any larger animal and I more than make up for my size in the sweetness department. Foster Mom and Dad are feeding me wonderful food so that I can add a few pounds to live up to my nickname.

In a nut shell (okay, so my given name is Peanut!), I am very loving, quiet, and friendly. I like other dogs, don’t mind cats, ignore the pet birds in my foster home, and travel wonderfully in the car. In fact, on my ride from the shelter to freedom, because I knew good days were ahead, I was so relaxed that I was spotted snoozing on my back inside my crate! As a matter of fact, lying on my back is my favorite sleep position! Foster Mom says I look silly, but that’s not important--I’m comfortable!

I have a long, natural tail which my foster sibling cat loves to play with (check out my video). It also helps me stand out in this crowd of cockers with tiny nubs! This also will make it easier for you to spot me when you come to meet me at an adoption show :)

I’m also housebroken and crate-trained. At night, I sleep quietly in a crate in my foster parents’ bedroom. When Foster Mom is working from home, we go back to bed after Foster Dad leaves for work and sleep another couple of hours!! (Shhh, don’t tell him!) And then I spend the rest of the day following her around the house or sleeping at her feet next to her desk.

Foster Mom says that I have “selective hearing.” She isn’t sure if it’s because of the ear infection that I had before I arrived at OBG or if it’s because of the “Y chromosome” that I was born with—gosh, I don’t even know what that is…Anywho, I don’t always hear when she calls me or respond to her verbal directions. But I sure do recognize when the refrigerator door is opened! Mom thinks that with some time and training, I’ll be just fine. I’ve already learned a hand sign for sit! I try to obey every time, because then I get a tasty treat!! Can you tell that I’m a chowhound??? Foster Mom says that’s a good thing. I couldn’t agree more!

Shortly after OBG rescued me, I saw a heart specialist who diagnosed me with a grade 4 heart murmur and lung disease. The doc wants to check me out again in a few months. I suspect I'll be frequenting the doctor every 6 months or so to monitor how I'm doing. I’ve heard that my condition is manageable with meds and that I could live a normal cocker lifespan—really, all I want is to live a happy, loving life for however long that may be.
