Shadow

Shadow is just that, your constant shadow and confidante. He is an 11-year-old who was dearly loved by his former family but when they moved from a home with a fenced yard to an apartment, he just wasn't getting the exercise he needed. Shadow is looking for a family who will include him in their adventures. His foster mom has reported that he would do best in a single family home, with a canine buddy, and with folks who are home more than away. Shadow becomes vocal when his family is gone which is why a single family home is best. He is a total love bug and can't get enough of being with people of all ages.

Shadow did live with another dog in his former home and they got along well. This personable guy will play with other dogs but he will also back down if they clearly do not want to play with him.

He reportedly "adores" kids who are respectful and treat him gently. When kids ride bikes or scooters past him, he has no reaction. We have discovered that he likes to play "chase the kitty" and unfortunately, his kitty playmates weren't informed that it was a game. Sorry, no cat siblings for Shadow!

Shadow is housebroken but may become excited and do a bit of submissive wetting when new people reach down to greet him. Shadow was crated when his family was not home and at night for sleeping. He will trash surf, looking for that tasty last morsel from his family's last meal. A potential adopter should be willing to keep the trash can out of Shadow's reach.
