Danner

Danner is an 8-year-old boy who has been through a lot in his life. A Good Samaritan rescued poor Danner from an abusive situation where he was being extremely neglected and starved. Danner's life took a wonderful turn, he was now loved and became the loving, well-behaved companion to a school-aged child. His life was going to take yet another turn when the family had to make the painful decision to rehome Danner, through no fault of his own. Danner is a sweet, friendly, gentle, and calm little guy who likes to lay snuggled against your legs. He is great with people and friendly with strangers. His former residence was an apartment but Danner sometimes whined when his family was away. Perhaps a family who is home more than they are gone would be more to Danner's liking. Danner will pull while being walked unless his family uses a harness, then he's fine. It seems that Danner would benefit from obedience training since he likes to be a "free spirit" and will not come when called. This congenial guy seems to get along well with other dogs and basically ignores them. According to his owner, he hasn't been around many cats, but likes to chase them, and squirrels too, when he gets the chance. Danner was given the once over by our vet. He arrived with a rear leg limp and we discovered some arthritis and a partial cruciate tear which he takes anti-inflammatory drugs for. At this time, he doesn't need further medical intervention. Danner also received a complete dental cleaning after it was discovered that he had a sinus infection along with some severely diseased teeth. He is beginning to feel so much better and can't wait to greet you with his big toothy grin! Danner is a wonderful dog, who has won the hearts of everyone he meets.
