Araxie

On Saturday, July 25th, OBG Cocker Rescue facilitated the rescue of 46 dogs off of a property in Virginia. These dogs were living in a hot barn without anyone to give them proper exercise or keep their water dishes filled.  All but 5 of them have been adopted to great homes!!!

Hi there, I'm Araxie! I'm a 3-year-old, ~20# beauty with a full tail.  I am very sweet and get along well with dogs. Of course I love humans too, even if it takes a few minutes for me to warm up. Once you win me over, I'll crawl into your lap for some lovin'!  I am a true couch potato, snuggly dog when inside.  I do warm up to women faster than I warm up to men.  The doctors here have checked me out and I seem to be in great good health.  

I am actively working on my house-training skills, getting better each day.  Even though I have been in my foster home for 6 months, I still need to go out every 2-3 hours during the day.  I don't have a doggie door, but I wonder if having one might help me.  I look forward to my daily 2 mile walks, and I even enjoy carrots for snacks.  One thing I do not like is the vet's office.  I literally scream and carry on if a vet so much as touches me.  I don't think I'm going to warm up to the vet anytime soon.  However, I'm sweet and friendly to the staff.  Because of my quirks, I would prefer an adult-only family or a home with pre-teen or teenage children.  I would also like someone with dog experience, who can be patient and gentle with me.  My final request is for a home with a fenced yard (no e-fences) and another nice dog.  I learn a lot and gain confidence from being around another canine.
