Sandman
Adult | Male | Adopted
Hi, My name is Sandman, and I'm looking for a very special forever home - is that your home? You see, when I came to OBG I was favoring my front right paw. My foster Mom, OBG crew and my vets were all concerned, so I went to a specialist to have my paw inspected to see what was going on with it! The wonderful specialist determined I had a tumor, so they removed it. Unfortunately, they were unable to obtain "clean margins" of the squamous cell carcinoma (aka cancer), so now the recommended treatment to ensure all cancer is removed is amputation of my front leg.
Everyone believes this will give me the best chance at life, and I so want to live! My foster Mom has been researching the surgery and sharing all this with me, so I'm not scared at all. The surgery is scheduled for the end of May, so I won't quite be ready for adoption until a few weeks after my surgery. Since I'm so adorable, I know any family wanting to adopt me can wait a few weeks, of course.
A little bit more about me, as I know you must be interested. I weigh about 25 pounds, which means I'm in good cocker shape! The vet thinks I might be as young as seven years old, but since I was a stray it's hard to know. I like to chill on my foster Mom's lap and hang with my foster siblings, and the resident cat, too! I am housebroken, ride well in the car, and make friends easily! My mom says a home with kids who are ten years and older would be a good fit for me, because I like to play.
Keep watching my bio, and my foster Mom will keep everyone updated!
