Dayton

Say hello to Dayton!  This ~4-year-old sweetheart is very friendly and always smiling.  We think his cocker genes are mixed with golden retriever, but we simply refer to his genetic makeup as CUTE!

Dayton is an all around great guy.  He makes friends everywhere he goes - probably because he likes to snuggle and is not too proud to pass out kisses.  When our boy arrived he was a whopping 70 pounds!!   After being exercised regularly and watching caloric intake in his foster home, he's down to 53 pounds...only 5-8 more lbs to go :)

Dayton is really fun to have around.  He loves balls and toys, and will entertain himself by tossing them in the air if you're too busy for playtime.  He's a committed shadow, following his person wherever they go.  He gets along just fine with the resident dogs but would not turn down the chance to be an only dog where he gets all the attention to himself!  Dayton is housebroken and has wonderful manners, he's never gotten into an ounce of trouble when left loose at home.  Our boy is strong on his leash and sometimes likes to "talk" when he's out and about.  Who can blame him for wanting to communicate with the outside world, especially squirrels!

We think Dayton would thrive in a home with a fenced yard in a quiet neighborhood.  He loves getting out and about on his leash but he has a penchant for trying to chase trucks or cars...so a less traveled area would be perfect!  He also loves children but is likely best suited for older kids due to his size.
