Dexter

Hi, everyone!  I'm Dexter, a fabulous 6-year-old fella.  I was found as a stray, and it's clear I had been neglected for quite some time.  Now that I've arrived at OBG, the days of being treated with indifference are over.  Color me happy!

I am both adorable and sweet, so I've made lots of amigos since I showed up.  I even have the groomer wrapped around my paw!  I love the company of other dogs and simply adore humans.  I am so well behaved that I have free rein in my foster home, and guess what...I haven't even barked once!  Foster mom says this means I could happily reside in an apartment or condo, since I won't disturb nearby neighbors.  I don't get up on furniture, either, as I'm perfectly content with chilling on the floor.  I'm completely housebroken, too!  I'm not sure what these plush things called toys are, but they seem a bit silly to me.  I love belly rubs, walks, and I'm oh so smart - I know the Sit command and have mastered several hand signals:  Touch is my favorite.  How do I sound so far?!

My ears were in horrific shape when I arrived at OBG.  Fortunately, I had ear ablation surgery on both of my ears, which rid me of pain and recurring infections.  I don't hear anymore, but that's no biggie!  The vets also discovered a heart murmur, so I take medication every day that keeps me well.  I look forward to it, because it means I get peanut butter - yum!!   While I love everyone, I'd prefer a home without little humans.  Please reach out so we can meet up soon!
