Elise is an honorary Cocker. Our best guess is that she's a German Wirehaired Pointer mix. How did she end up in Cocker rescue, you ask? Every once in a while, when we go to pick up Cockers from a shelter, the shelter staff will point out a pup that has a great personality but has run out of time. Elise, a sweetie and only 2 years old, was one of those add-ons!

Elise ignores cats and is dog-friendly as long as her playmate isn't the dominant sort. She's very energetic and playful. Any morsel of food can be used to get her attention, so obedience training should come easy to her. When she has to go outside to potty, she paws at the back door and whines. Elise is spayed, up-to-date on shots, and healthy as a horse. She loves bully sticks and chew toys.

Elise is extremely athletic and is able to jump a 4 foot chain link or picket fence when properly motivated. For her to be safe in a fenced yard, it would have to be a privacy fence. Pointers are a sporting breed and thrive when they get lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Daily walks or runs, agility classes, hunting training, nose work... Elise would LOVE these types of things (and you'll love the calm, snuggly dog you get as a result!).

Although she weighs about 50 pounds, Elise still thinks she is a lap dog. You will go from total stranger to her BFF in five seconds flat. She wants to lean on you, kiss your hands (and face!), and just generally be as close to you as possible.

Elise is quite the catch, so if you're interested, submit an application today. She won't last long!
