Remi

Remi is an exceptionally sweet 9-year-old, who is ready for a life of pampering and unconditional love. It appears that her former life was filled with litter after litter of pups. At some point, she became another nameless roadside stray and wound up at one of the high-kill shelters.

Remi has been described as an all-around sweet girl, who readily flips over onto her back so she can receive a soothing belly rub. If only belly rubs could cure all of the physical neglect she suffered from. Sweet Remi came into rescue suffering from ear infections, kennel cough, sore teeth, and multiple mammary masses. It seems that her former ear infections may have left her very hard of hearing, if not deaf. When Remi is sleeping, she will not hear you approach, so her caregivers gently touch her paw or shoulder to wake her. For this reason, we feel an adult or older child household would be best.

Remi has received treatment for her cough and teeth but will need to be monitored for any possible future dental issues. Since Remi seems to have been spayed later in life, her multiple mammary masses have become malignant. The good news is that the chest x-rays and blood work seem to indicate that the malignancy has not moved into her lungs. We don't know what Remi's long term prognosis will be. What we hope is that someone will open their home and heart to a sweet little girl who wants nothing more than love and comfort for her remaining years, which we hope will be well into the future.

Remi has also done well with other dogs. There have not been any issues regarding toys or food. We do not have first hand knowledge regarding any interactions with cats.
