Marley had a loving family until his elderly owners could no longer care for him. They had to make the decision to bring 9-year-old Marley to the shelter. OBG saw this sweet gentleman and just knew he deserved a second chance at a forever home.

Marley has slimmed down to 33#, and that is a healthy weight for him. He loves long car rides, looks forward to daily walks, and enjoys going on weekly hikes with a meetup group. He especially loves trying to chase the geese and ducks, but his foster mom makes sure he stays close to her. He also enjoys snuggling on the sofa and watching television with his foster mom.

The only time Marley is not a perfect gentleman is when it's time for his daily ear drops. A patient adopter can desensitize him to ear cleanings with the help of an experienced trainer. A not-so-patient one can muzzle him for ear cleanings and give him extra love when the ordeal is over. He forgets within minutes. Due to years of ear infections, Marley's hearing is diminished. He can still hear loud noises but misses quieter ones.

Marley would love to be the only child in an adult home with experienced cocker owners. Having grown up with "oldie but goodie" humans, he's accustomed to a quiet lifestyle and little ones are just too noisy and grabby for his liking. Because he can be choosy about his canine companions, and because he loves to be loved, he'd just as well be the one and only furkid in the home to dote on!

Marley has been with OBG for several months now, due to lung problems. He was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and cardiomyopathy. If you would like to make a donation to OBG to help with Marley's care, please email us! Thank you!
