Neptune
Young | Male | Adopted
Meet Neptune! Neptune, AKA "Tuney", is a 1-2 year old, 30# cocker/lab mix (honestly, just a guess) with a long tail. Tuney was picked up as a stray in North Carolina and then made his way to OBG. We are thrilled to have him!
Tuney is a very happy pup. His tail wags constantly. He loves playing in the yard, going for walks, and receiving human attention. He considers himself a lap dog, and he gives kisses when given the opportunity. Tuney enjoys chewing on bones and chasing toys. He comes to his name and knows "sit" very well. He is working on "stay". Tuney really wants to please and he loves treats, so he is very fun to teach. Plus, that tail of his that constantly thumps on the ground is really fun to hear.
Tuney is very puppy-like. We're working on household manners (not jumping on everything - is he part kangaroo?), and he is now house trained. The only "minuses" we have discovered, so far, are that he is a little nervous when meeting some people, and he will nip if he gets overwhelmed (treats help him get over that in about 2 seconds). Tuney also greets other dogs a bit rudely (approaches them head-on and then jumps on their face). While he has gotten along with many other dogs, we have learned that he can be choosey about his dog friends. Thus, Tuney would do best with what we call "bomb-proof" dogs.
