Kristin
Baby | Female | Adopted
Say hello world to our new arrival, a precious baby girl named Kristin. She is a complete cuddle bug, happy to be in your lap all the time when she is not exploring the world. A beautiful buff 8 week old with white gloves on her front feet and a unique little kink at the end of her undocked tail, as well as the most soulful dark eyes you've ever gazed into.
Friendly and outgoing, with just a trace of shyness, Kristin weighs in at a petite 6 1/2 pounds at her 7-9 week vet visit where she checked out in good health. She eats well, and is learning to head for the door when its time to go out. She is a total sweetheart.
This pretty little girl is named in memory of late OBG volunteer, Kristin Natvig. She always preferred to foster younger dogs and help prepare them for a forever home. As this little girl begins her life with a forever family, we can think of no better way to honor Kristin and all the pups to whom she helped give a second chance at a great life!
Before applying for a puppy, please carefully consider the following issues. Will someone be home every 2-3 hours to let the puppy outside? Our general rule of thumb is that if a dog needs to be crated more than 6 hours/day total, then that dog is the wrong one for the person's lifestyle. Please consider Puppy Kindergarten classes - it is never too early to start training. More dogs under the age of 3 years are euthanized for behavior issues than for illnesses. Puppies (and dogs) are expensive. It can cost over $1500 a year to care for a dog (vet check-ups, shots, spay/neuter, heartworm/flea tick preventatives, food, and other supplies). Lastly, please consider your summer travel plans before applying for a puppy. We do not adopt puppies more than 1-2 hours outside of the Washington DC area (we will adopt to Richmond and Baltimore).
