Pumpkin

Hi! I’m Pumpkin.

I am a playful, 10-year-old, sweet, buff girl. I like walks in the park, naps, playing with my toys, chasing balls, belly rubs, and ear scratches. And just hanging out. And car rides. Oh, and treats. You’ve seen my picture, so you know how cute I am.

I’m getting acquainted in my new neighborhood. I am friendly and polite with the people I meet. Everyone says I’m a little sweetheart. I’ve been playing with the kids in the park. I’m making doggy friends although I’m wary until I get to know them. I get agitated around puppies and big dogs and dogs that run around and yap at me, especially dark-colored dogs. I like dogs who are small and quiet and calm. My bestie is an elderly yellow lab. And I’ve been for nice walks with a senior Westie and a senior Jack Russell.

I have lots of energy and can walk really fast. I can go up and down stairs and jump up into the car. I’m also really good at just hanging out. I love being in the same room as my people. I’ll sit next to your chair or nap in the corner. I love napping.

I enjoy my meals. I even like watching my people eat. I don’t beg. I just watch to see if they drop anything. Keeping the floor cleaned up is my job, right?

I don’t hear quite as well as I used to, but I behave really well and I’m really good at figuring out what you want me to do. My foster mom says I’m one of the best-behaved dogs she’s ever known. I’m really good at taking my pills and getting drops in my eyes. I get special treats for that. And I still see really well. I can spot a friend or stranger across the street and warn my people.

Ideally, I would prefer a forever home where someone is there at least part of the day.  I definitely prefer to be the only dog. I might be OK with a small, calm, light colored dog), but we would have to meet to decide if we like each other. I love people and am very good with children of all ages, so visiting grandkids would be fine.
