Tessa

Meet our beautiful blonde girl, Tessa.  This ~8+ year babe is as sweet as can be.  She hails from Tennessee and was fortunate to hop on a plane that dropped her off in the DC metro area, all thanks to a fabulous non-profit, Pilots N Paws!  Now that she's safe and sound with us, she has nicely settled into her foster home.

Tessa is a very sweet, quiet, friendly girl who loves people.  She doesn't bark and wants to meet everyone she sees, but she does not jump up when greeting people.  She gets along well with other dogs and cats.  She does just fine with children, having lived with 2 around the age of 10 and 11.  She would also be happy being the only dog.  Sitting by her person while they watch TV is a favorite thing.  She is house trained and lets you know when she needs to go out.  Tessa loves to walk and bounces down the sidewalk sight-seeing through the neighborhood.

Tessa loves food, especially her vegetables.  She receives in-between meal snacks of carrots, broccoli, apples, and celery.  She is eating grain free food for sensitive skin and looking good.  She knows the power of the paw to shake or remind you that she would like a treat.  Tessa is hard of hearing, but she doesn't miss a thing that goes on in the house.

You might notice in her photos that Tessa's face is a little lop-sided.  She has a facial nerve palsy - the same kind that happens to some people after getting a virus, but it does not cause her any issues at all (and it is not contagious).  It just adds more character to this sweet girl.
