Sagan

What's black and white and cute all over?  It's me, Sagan!  I'm all puppy and full of life and love.  

I am a very sweet 1 year old boy who hasn't shared much about my past, but everyone is guessing that I led a pretty small life.  I don't even know what toys are.  I would like to learn about the bigger world very slowly.

A huge, but pleasant, surprise for my foster mom is that I seem housetrained.  I am not even in a rush to go out in the morning.  I am definitely a lover.  I'll wash your face with kisses and sit on your lap.  I'm on the smaller side, so I fit very nicely.  My manners are pretty good, but I still put my paws up on counters and tables to see if there is anything tasty for me to eat.  I love to snuggle with you on the sofa - I can easily jump onto it from the front side or the back side.  I also still have some puppy-mouthing.  I am young, you know.

I am super smart and learn quite quickly.  However, I am very carefully searching for the right home for me.  You see, I get highly excited whenever I see anything move.  And I mean anything (people, dogs, cars, strollers, bikes, birds, squirrels, ceiling fans in other people's homes).  I would do best as an only dog.  There is a possibility that I might get along with a super calm dog who ignored me and was willing to put up with my puppy ways without correcting me.  However, you wouldn't be able to walk the 2 of us together because you'll need both hands to work with me (one to hold my leash, the other to hold the clicker/treats, reinforcing me for being calm when those scary things approach).  I am definitely not a city dog.  I would do much better in a quiet suburb or rural area.  I have been super sweet with humans, but because of the attention that I need, preteens/teenagers and above would be best.  Visiting grandkids would be fine. 

One thing some folks notice is that I really like to try and chase cars.  That is something to protect me from and help me with (so no e-fences please)! They say I always need to be on a leash and to have a securely fenced yard.
