Candy

Candy the English cocker spaniel is less than two years old and came all the way from Egypt!  Candy once had a home and a family in Egypt but ended up homeless after she started having uncontrolled shaking.  Sadly, veterinarians in Egypt do not have the same access to medical equipment and testing as we have in the United States and they were unable to diagnose her.  The local rescue community began networking to help Candy and reached out to OBG.  

Candy is now in a wonderful foster home after OBG-sponsored appointments with a neurologist and an opthamologist. The best news is that Candy is a total love bug and gets along with people, dogs and cats!  Any pets in her forever home will need to be okay with another dog walking into them.  She has perfect vision but a neurological disorder suspected to be from the distemper virus which causes tremors.  There is no known cure and we are trying a variety of different medications to see if that helps Candy with her tremors.  Candy enjoys roaming around the house and yard.  Stairs are too hard for her so she needs a home with very few stairs and adopter who is willing to pick her up.  She rides great in the car too.
