Maggie is a gorgeous 5-6 year old who is full of bubbly energy!  She gets along with all humans, dogs and cats.  She is a friend to all, a real sweetheart.  Maggie has been with her foster family for a few months, and they learn more about her every day.

She has had ear surgery in the past and is hard of hearing.  But because she doesn’t hear much, she rarely barks.  Maggie does understand a few verbal commands and responds to them well. Maggie has Cushings Disease and gobbles down her daily medication with no problem when it's hidden in something tasty.  Cushings Disease can make a dog need to urinate more frequently. She does pretty well when taken out routinely every few hours.  She isn’t quite housebroken, but is making progress.  She has no problem holding it for 8-9 hours overnight when sleeping in her crate.

Maggie loves to play fetch with a small tennis ball and chew on a bone or toy.  Her independent side is starting to let her softness shine through more often.  She now seeks out affection and jumps up on your lap to snuggle and give lots of licks.  Her foster mom says, "She loves dumpster diving!"  Don't worry, she doesn't mean the garbage.  Maggie loves to dig in a basket of dog toys.  She gets all the way in the basket and throws everything out, one toy at a time. Maggie was a stray before landing in an animal shelter and finding her way to OBG, so we're sure this habit is a holdover from her street days.  She has tons of energy and lives life to the fullest!  She is full of love and joy to share with you.
