Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue

Daisy's Story

Big news! We have another litter of puppies in the OBG family! In mid-June, OBG received an urgent plea from a Virginia shelter. A very pregnant Beagle named Daisy had been brought in and was expected to give birth at any time.  Another rescue had agreed to take her and then backed out. The shelter was full and they feared for the health of the Mom and her puppies if they were born in the shelter.  If they could not find another rescue to take her, she was going to be euthanized that day.

While OBG focuses mainly on rescuing Cocker Spaniels and Spaniel mixes, we could not say no to a girl in need. Our volunteer rushed down to the shelter and took her straight to one of our puppy foster homes.

As you know, OBG just helped bring Cookie's Mini Chips into the world and get adopted. It's unusual for OBG to have two litters of puppies in one year, let alone one right after the other.  But last Friday, June 24th, Daisy, assisted by her Foster Mom, delivered 8 beautiful and healthy pups (6 boys and 2 girls). We don't know who the Daddy is but Mom is all Beagle! Applications for Daisy and her puppies are being accepted now for adoption in August. Click here to read about our application process.

Please help us welcome Daisy and the Lil' Sparklers. Now with OBG, their futures are bright. Please consider a donation for their care. Click here to donate online or by mail. Thank you!
